of time and distance, conception and reality,
that is not revealed through acquisition
of games of chance or markets sum-totaling
the wealth of millions in a fluttering dance
of paper tickets and computer predictions,
does not beckon with holdings locked down
Knox-style behind walls and gates,
but dawns in the idea of self and it's future,
the opportunity to fail, flailing downward
into the alleyways and darkness of want,
want, want, wanting but never having
