Going Solar

As you may or may not know, I am trying to get a solar electric business off the ground in Arizona.

This has required some inner searching and evaluation. I'm still not sure that I'm the type of person who can get this going but I am committed to trying for a while yet. Indeed, I commit to working on this until the end of September. By then, my funds will have surely run out and I will be ready to go back to a paying job.

But until then, instead of working on writing and lit, I am using this space to work out my thoughts on starting a business.

Today's 5 goals:
1) Review business management portion of the contractor's exam and get re-acquainted with the electrical code. This is to prepare for taking the test and receiving a license.
2) Get quotes from my competitors on putting solar on my house. This is to get some idea of how my competition is addressing sales and potential sales. I need to dig up the information from SRP (the local utility) on the house that burned. Even though the load will be changing, it should give some good information on the house for quoting purposes.
3) Get quotes on solar panels themselves for my installation.
4) Review and compare business accounts with the major banks (Wells Fargo, BoA, AZ federal, Bank of the West, Chase, etc.)
5) Personal: gym & meditation. I did yoga this morning and that worked out quite well. I'm ready to work this morning. I hope to use the lunch break for gymwork and meditation.

If I can achieve and set 5 goals per day, I can get this off the ground in no time.
