a disappointment or a deceipt
the focus brought closely
shows:

a receeding
of time
fossilizing
possibility
opportunity lost
to graves dug
inevitably

a standard bearing inscription
falsehood even now clearly shown
denied to the very end

what malice
for ourselves
never even
given
a chance
