The Work

Back at home after a period of travel. Thinking about the work, the value and purpose of work, in creating a framework for existence. Especially for those of us without children: that is The Work for many, many people and gives purpose and direction. If not, and many people can navigate between those poles, the Work is the map for continued exploration and meaning. There was a nice essay in Harper's about the economic philosophy of idleness.
